Monoliths are large stones that were used to build some important structures in ancient times. What makes them interesting is that many monoliths weighed several tons and were moved for hundreds of miles across harsh terrain. Technology available at the time should not have allowed early civilizations to transport, cut so precisely, and combine so perfectly these massive stones. Many believe that ancient civilizations were given futuristic technology by alien visitors to create and transport these monoliths. Some of the most famous ancient monoliths are Stonehenge, the spheres of Costa Rica, and the city structures of Machu Picchu.

Our world is filled with many beautiful and amazing places to see. Some of these places are well known, after all, there are not too many people that have not heard of Stonehenge. Other sites around the world are not quite as famous. Ancient places have a way of capturing our imaginations. It is quite simple to dream up various, interesting explanations as to how and why these ancient sites exist.

There are low stone walls, crisscrossing the deserts of Israel, Egypt, and Jordan, referred to as an ancient animal trap, these low walls were made so animals would have to follow a trail to meet their untimely demise. This worked well for these ancient site dwellers as it made it simple to get their animals to one place to be killed in large quantities. Another point of interest would be Petra. Petra is actually carved into a canyon in Arabah, Jordan. This

Ancient Civilizations have been recorded all the way back to around 3,100 BCE in the Mesopotamian area, though they may be older. Ancient civilizations began to appear in what is called The Copper Age. This time period occured between the Neolithic and the Bronze Age. It appears that Serbia has one of the oldest recorded civilizations with accurate dating placing it around 5,000 BCE. Bhirrana, located in South Asia, has been dated back to 7,000 BCE. Dating back to 2,500 BCE is parts of Sub-Saharan Africa and a mountain range in Niger. From 4,000 to 1,000 BCE there are many civilizations found in the Americas. This included evidence of copper being mined and weapons being made. This is also the time frame when Egypt began to get a foothold in the historical records.

These civilizations provide the first glimpse into use and consistency of rituals, religion and human social development. Many of these civilizations have left behind artifacts and drawings of unexplained images that leave many people questioning, what exactly did they experience?
