Penguin Pride/Trans/Non-Binary Sisters

Presenter: Dr. Melanie Rodriguez and Dr. Brenda Ivelisse

A workshop on inclusion in a political climate and times that are uncertain, this workshop will challenge you to dig deep on issues surrounding gender, sexuality and KDChi. Curriculum built from the Safe Zone Project, a non profit organization, will provide a powerful and effective LGBTQ+ awareness and ally training. As a participant you get to explore concepts related to the community. At the end of the training, you will be certified as a Safe Zone participant. Come join the conversation!

*Note* This session will run two hours with a 15 minute break in between.

Adulting 101: Jobs, Taxes and 401Ks*

The first job out of university can often be daunting when it comes to understanding benefits packages, proper tax estimates, figuring out health insurance and retirement benefits. This session will explore these topics with real life examples of how to ask the right questions from HR professionals to make sure they are receiving all of their proper benefits to fit their financial plan.

Sexual Assault Victimology **

This workshop will outline sexual assault laws in Texas, describe the prevalence of sexual violence, explore the impact of sexual violence trauma and identify trauma-informed responses to survivors of sexual violence.
