THURSDAY ENTERPRISE
HELP STUDENTS FIND THEIR
DREAM JOB
The IMI (Institute of the Motor
Industry), is the Professional Body for
the retail motor industry and, through
our careers portal Autocity, has
created a ‘Find My Dream Job’ quiz
ideal for students who are unsure
what roles may suit their personalities
and preferences. The 10 question
quiz will suggest 4 or 5 roles they may
be suited for and links to videos of
people doing the job, information
about the work, salary expectations,
entry routes and apprenticeship
vacancies. As well as this students
can explore the World of Work and
discover over 150 job roles (technical
and non-technical) that make up the
retail motor industry.

There are comprehensive, free
teaching resources ranging from
term-long projects covering key stage
3 / 4 curriculum in maths, literacy
and business through to single lesson
plans, employability skills exercises,
work experience tool kits and fun
end-of-term ideas. All available to
download and print/copy as many
times as you need.

The IMI also organise free outings for school and
college groups to motor industry related places such
as the Santa Pod Raceway, where students can find out
more about the industry, meet the teams and have
exclusive tours of the pits – and have a great day out!

Could your school have our next national champions?
Our three competitions are now open for entries with
a closing date of 29th May 2015. Students can enter
the Business, Literacy or Body & Paint competitions
sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen Group
and Babcock Training respectively – and there are some
money-can’t-buy prizes up for grabs!
Students work in teams to plan a product launch for
Jaguar Land Rover, write a magazine article for
Volkswagen or design a custom paint scheme for
Babcock. Find out more and resister your school today:
