Cequent Offers New Universal ModuLite® ZCI™: Zero Contact Interface Eliminates Cutting and Splicing Cequent Performance Products is proud to introduce the Tekonsha® ModuLite® ZCI™: Zero Contact Interface (PN 119250). This revolutionary new product isolates the trailer light operation from the tow vehicle’s electrical system, eliminating all contact with the vehicles lighting system. Instead, ZCI uses sensors that simply SNAP around the wires to detect if current is present. And, because ZCI is not directly connected, there is ZERO chance of feedback to the vehicle. “The wiring in today’s vehicles is more complex than ever before,” said Becky Briggs, senior product manager. The ZCI cuts installation time down substantially and eliminates the need to cut or splice wires, keeping warranties intact. No other product uses this technology” This universal product eliminates snipping, cutting, splicing, interference, and electrical draw on the vehicle’s lighting system. The ZCI’s unique design is also universal, fitting every known vehicle in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. “The ZCI’s innovative technology could change the way our installers do business,” said John Walsh, vice president of sales and marketing. “Keeping at least one ZCI on the shelf at all times guarantees they have the wiring needed for any vehicle, no matter the make and model.” ZCI works with 2- or 3-wire systems, pulse width modulation system, multiplexed 2or 3- wire hookup, and low-side switched vehicles. It’s rated for up to 4.2 amps for turn/ stop and 7.5 amps for taillight trailer circuits.
