he Nantucket Regional Transit Authority (NRTA) provides seasonal public transit bus service -called The Wave -- on Nantucket. Service is provided to/from Nantucket Town to the midisland and outlying areas on the Mid-Island and Miacomet loops; Madaket on the Madaket
route; ‘Sconset on the ‘Sconset via Old South Road route, the Milestone Road route, and the Polpis
Road route; Surfside Beach via the Surfside Beach route; Jetties Beach via the Jetties Beach route;
and Nantucket Memorial Airport via the Airport route. Stops are conveniently located along all
loops/routes, and are designated by gray posts with blue stripes. Park and Ride lots are available
along the Miacomet and Mid-Island loops. You may park free of charge and Ride the Wave. One,
three and seven-day passes may be purchased aboard all buses. Thirty-day and season passes
may be purchased at the NRTA Office. All buses are accessible to people with disabilities and
equipped to accommodate two bikes on a first-come, first-served basis. Your Island Ride provides
complimentary paratransit service with 24-hour advance notice by calling (508) 325-7516. The
Riders’ Guide and bus information is available at www.nrtawave.com, at the downtown bus stop,
on all buses, at the Chamber of Commerce (Zero Main Street), Visitor Services (25 Federal Street),
Greenhound site (10-12 Washington Street), and the NRTA Administrative office (3 East Chestnut
