For such a small island, the diversity and scope of services available here are quite extensive. Note the five airlines that provide convenient and reliable transportation – both seasonal and year-round – to this far flung sandy outpost, as well as the aircraft charters that service Nantucket from Massachusetts and the tri-state area. As are appliance repair, animal care, attorneys, insurance agencies, consulting services, investment services, schools and educational opportunities, and so much more. Most impressive are the numerous associations and organizations which contribute to the ongoing vitality of our island and represent the dedicated, concerted efforts of groups to protect Nantucket Sound, educate about Autism, build homes and provide services for the less privileged, and bring injured soldiers and their families to the island for respite and relaxation, acknowledging their patriotism and heroism in the face of war.
