matched , professionally and personally . The Dallas Morning News even referred to the two of you as “ a beautifully breathtaking couple .” What did you think of that assessment ?
JORDAN : I think that there ’ s more to a relationship than being a good-looking couple .
JDM : What is the most important trait you look for in a partner , Jordan ?
JORDAN : Connection ; physical , emotional , and spiritual . It ’ s something that isn ’ t forced . It just is , and it ’ s a quality , a very important quality , that ’ s been missing from my life in every relationship I ’ ve been in .
JDM : You ’ ve recently been photographed with a new woman , Abby Rhodes . Does she offer that “ connection ” that you speak of ?
JORDAN : She ’ s very special to me .
JDM : Reportedly , she ’ s from Blink , Texas . The town the same house that your father was murdered . That ’ s a pretty eerie coincidence . Don ’ t you think ?
JORDAN : Yes . JDM : How did the two of you meet ?
JORDAN : An unexpected excursion led me to the house in Blink . I ’ d only ever seen it in crime scene photos after my father was killed and finally , my curiosity got the best of me . I was on my way to my ranch in Fort Worth when I drove past the exit on the highway and ended up in Blink . I had a sudden urge to see that house .
JDM : After thirty years ?
JORDAN : My life has paralleled my father ’ s life in more ways than one , from running his corporation to my life nearly ending the same way as his . So yes , I felt this overwhelming need to know him , to know that part of him that he kept secret from my mother , my sister , and me . Without realizing it that day , I was soul searching .
JDM : So , what did you expect to find at that house ?
JORDAN : I had no idea . My father was a god in my eyes , and when I walked into that small bungalow , I couldn ’ t imagine how someone of his stature could fit inside that house — physically or figuratively .
JDM : His mistress lived in that house . Did you feel that you were betraying your mother somehow ?
