N oted cookbook author of Stories from My Grandmother’s Kitchen, celebrity chef, and Youtube sensation, Darius Williams, dashed into another successful venture by adding restaurateur to his impressive resume with Greens and Gravy in Atlanta. Just the name of the restaurant is enough to make you want to put on your elastic pants and head for the door. As a matter of fact, when I told my best friend about it (and she is a foodie), she practically drooled. Walking through the door, we were greeted by a quaint spot decorated in sophisticated greens, brown wood, and black accents. Get it? Greens and gravy. Anyone that has a cookbook named Stories from My Grandmother’s Kitchen knows about brown gravy. However, I knew I was home when I saw The Wiz artwork on the wall. It’s as if Chef Williams— or whoever designed his interior—knew me personally and was calling me home. To start, my best friend ordered the deviled eggs.
