believe she was a fresh-faced rookie . That façade was lifted quickly as he glared in her direction . She was privy to information that he hadn ’ t been kept abreast of , and that already spoke to a sudden dissatisfaction with the way things were being conducted inside of the police headquarters . This interview isn ’ t going to be a cake walk ; that much is for certain . I ’ m going to have to turn on the charm to keep her from going for the jugular .
He still felt the radiance surrounding her . The more he stared at her , the more she continued to squirm in her space . He saw a subtle squeeze of her thighs , the overt sign that the intense exchange between them excited her on levels she didn ’ t want to verbally disclose . Her body gave her away , though ; it might as well have been shouting from the rooftops of its desire to sate its ravenous hunger .
He straightened himself in his chair , his direct eye contact taking her off balance for a few moments . This was when he was at his best , when he was his most charismatic and enchanting . “ Well , Ms . Velez , as you ’ re aware , these types of investigations do take time . After all , my wife has only been missing for less than twenty-four hours , so for local authorities to make this a top priority so soon … I am grateful for their accelerated efforts . As for the FBI , the agents working on this are highly-trained , very talented and competent individuals , and I have full confidence they will get to the bottom of this and find a way to bring my wife home to me .”

Despite her implied infatuation , he detected a need to get something juicy from him . He was prepared for her best shot , now that he was equipped with the immediate past comments and questions .
“ Do you believe this was a terrorist act to get your attention , with regard to the Iran sanctions that you ’ ve endorsed ?”
And there it was . The temperature in the room dropped ten degrees as that question was introduced into the conversation . It would have been at this point that Lea would have asked that the interview be interrupted ; considering he ’ d made her retire for the evening didn ’ t help matters , either . He couldn ’ t terminate the conversation on his own ; while the media fallout would be damaging , it would not catastrophic . He decided to stick it out and be as cool as the other side of the pillow while doing it .
He had to be delicate ; a statement from him on the issue while dealing with his wife ’ s disappearance would affect America ’ s already tenuous image on the world stage , not to mention the current administration ’ s efforts in the negotiations . He had to allow the process to play out , and speculations , whether she wanted the sound bite on that or not , were not prudent . Still , the question was a tough one to ask and answer .
