Most politicians would want to distance themselves from such a sordid history.” “Well, contrary to popular opinion, Ms. Velez, some of us actually are able to find a way out. In fact, one of my best friends—we were in the Marines together—lives out here in Los Angeles as an LAPD SWAT Commander.” Terrell rubbed his chin for a moment in contemplation. “In fact, I might need to reach out to him, let him know what I’m dealing with. He might be able to reach out to some sources off the grid.” Lana nodded, shifting her body to prepare for her more in-depth questions. “Now, sir, I have to get into the more pressing issues affecting you directly.
