Infect Yourself with The Virus

The Virus review by Shannan Harper of Harper ’ s Court

The Virus was a perfect blend of drama , hidden secrets , sensual scenes , action , and revenge . Nina was unlucky in love , until she met Deon , or so she thought . Deon soon found out why Hell hath no fury like a woman who ’ s so ticked off that she doesn ’ t bother to put out the fire out the fire after someone else has set the blaze . At first , Deon , a man who has seen the wrong side of relationships , is a character you want to hate . His experiences parallel Nina ’ s when it comes to extremes , and his stance on love a woman is rooted in a pain so deep that he ’ s never tried to admit how it has damaged ones who come to love him . By the end of the story , readers will want to see him heal and accept his past , then go after the woman who is the best match for him . With the way , Nina was treated , it triggered everything from self-doubt to flashbacks of a time that she preferred to stay deeply hidden . The writing in this story was crisp , and the character development so well done that one would tend to forget that they ’ re reading fiction . The plot twists and secrets were a welcome surprise in a literary world where middle-of-the road development is all too common . I believe readers will enjoy this offering from Valarie Prince as she truly proved that love can turn deadly , but also there are some who can be redeemed .

I second that emotion .

First of all , the title intrigued me . I went into reading this book without even reading the synopsis . Going into the first chapter , the character Nina had me in stitches . April and Nina reminded me so much of my friendship with my best girlfriend since the age of twelve . That Deon really set the stage for the goings ons in this book , and Valarie Prince ingeniously , put together a story that opened up cans of worms all over the place . I would have never guessed what was going to happen , and that ’ s what makes a spectacular read--a book that keeps you guessing , no matter how much you try to read between the lines . And those intimate scenes ? Forget about it ! I enjoyed it immensely . Bravo , Valarie Prince !
