Pat G’orge Walker . . .
Keshia La’Shawn: Where do you get your inspiration for your characters and how do you
go about developing them?
Pat G’Orge-Walker: I get an equal amount from church and just living life. Pretty much
know each of my characters personally. They somehow grow without a lot of help from me.
I also began my writing career with political thrillers but put it aside for comedy... a little
known fact.
NK: Ahem, (clears throat). Has a Pastor ever had a Come to Jesus Meeting about one of your
books--you’re calling out hypocrites, but I’m sure you’ve stepped on a few saints, toes, too.
Pat G’Orge-Walker: Lol. If they did they didn’t “testalie about it ... but they keep inviting me
to the churches to perform and speak, so . . .
NK: Did you just come up with your own word? Testalie instead of Testify???!!! I’m too
through.
Pat G’Orge-Walker: Yes, yes I did.
Christine Pauls: Your character, Sister Betty. Since I’m new to you and your work. How did
she come about?
Pat G’Orge-Walker: It’s a very long story, but here’s the short version: It was created from a
very awesome experience with a sister Betty-like character on my youth:
Keshia La’Shawn: Why did you decide to change from writing political thrillers to comedies?
Pat G’Orge-Walker: Got a major deal to write something that was unique and hopped on it.
NK:. Don’t Blame the Devil. The fights between Rev. Pillar and Delilah, what spurred those
on?
Pat G’Orge-Walker: Both carried anger from their past as husband and wife. Both stubborn..
both still in love . . . both still sexually attracted to each other and yet, neither trusted the
other.
NK: one reviewer wrote: “Life is sometimes so stressful. We all need to laugh and Pat G’Orge-
Walker provides this opportunity. She will have you laughing so hard that tears will come to
your eyes. This is an easy reading book.” How are you able to provide this for others, when
you’ve been hit the hardest be things in your life?
