Zosimo Jimeno is an eleven year long-stay Expat that originates and brought up in
Malaysia. Before settling down in Vietnam, Zosimo spend many years jet-setting

suitable for both marriage and the keeping of any kind of pet. Now, Zosimo lives

Briefly tell our readers your experiences
of owning pets where you were born and
raised?
I grew up with a family that relocated from one country
to another, depending on the location of my father’s
work contract. Just to name a few, we globe trotted to
places like Indonesia, Thailand, India, Latin America,
and of course, also in Malaysia.
As long as I can remember, my family always had dogs.
Not one, but a pack of them. I recalled we had German
Shepherds, Doberman, Spitz, Dalmatians, Great Danes,
and lots of what some called pariah street mutts. Our
family just loved dogs and we had 11 of them over the
years.
My father always treated them as a barking alarm
against intruders, probably to compensate for always
far away at work, while my mom, an expat’s wife, stayed
at home with us growing kids. And so, I have always
