Blue Holes
The Bahamas has the highest
concentration of blue holes on
the planet. Beneath the alluring
turquoise waters lie ancient
limestone caves which house
the islands’ geological history.
About 1,000 caves can be
found throughout the islands
but only 200 or so have been
explored. Their exploration can
be considered dangerous but
many divers venture into their
depths in spite of the ominous
stories and sometimes unusual
discoveries reported by other
dives who preceeded them.
For the adventurous, these
enigmatic holes and winding
passages is a place of wonder,
mystery and ecological
discoveries.
