Sapona Wreck
Once owned by a liquor merchant during the prohibition days, the concrete ship Sapona was
used as a store for liquor which was discharged to ‘go fast’ boats. Having run aground during a
1926 hurricane, the ship was used for bombing practice by the USAF during WW11. Today, located
south of Bimini Island, the wreck is great place for divers to explore and also provides a nice fishing
spot.
