For over 100 years,
this cultural festival
has been celebrated
on Aruba on June
24th each year with
traditional song and
dance.
This holiday is rife
with both pagan and
Christian symbolism
reflecting the influences
of the Arawak
natives and Spanish
missionaries on the
Island, respectively.
It is celebrated at
various locations and
community centers on
the island.
