Tintamarre Island About four kilometers from St. Martin’s coast is the uninhabited island of Tintamarre, its 100 hectares sitting quietly in the middle of the ocean. A small rail track, no longer in use, the remains of an airstrip and remnants of an old cotton plantation are all you’ll find here. There are beaches on the island’s east and west coast but the most accessible of the two is Baie Blanche, on the west which faces St. Martin. If you visit this island, you should walk with you own supply of food and drink. Tintamarre lies within the Saint Martin Nature Reserve.
