Franck Perret Museum Volcanologist, Franck Perret opened this museum in 1933 on Rue Victor Hugo, Saint-Pierre. Everything in here speaks of the 1902 Mount Pelee eruption with before and after representations. Some of the artifacts include a partly melted bell once belonging to the Notre Dame Cathedral. If you are interested in volcanoes, this is a place you will want to visit. The exhibits are all clearly described and the guide is a worthwhile addition as he paints clear pre and post eruption pictures with his knowledgeable description of events. Over 30,000 people died on that day and the town of St Pierre was completely destroyed. PC: TripAdvisor
