Sancocho is a meal which is made on special occasions and shared with friends and family. A thick stew consisting of chicken, pork, yucca, yam, green plantains, and potatoes, it is most likely the meal you will eat if invited to the home of a friend on New Year’s eve in the Dominican Republic.
