Cabarete
This quiet fishing village was first established by a former slave owner in 1835 and today it is
one of the Caribbean’s premier kite surfing venues with international competitions regularly
being held there. Even though the village still only has one street, tourists love it here as there
is kayaking, scuba diving and snorkeling nearby, plus beautiful beaches and caves to explore.
