Corozal Town. La Ruta Maya River Challenge, a three
day 174 mile canoe race from San Ignacio to Belize
City, will be held from 8 – l1 March 8 next year. With
our national festivities around the corner, there are
also numerous events such as the Queen of the Bay
Pageant, the carnival jouvert followed by the street
carnival on September 8 and of course our national
10th of September and National Independence Day
Parades. La Reina de la Costa Maya international
beauty pageant is held annually during August in
San Pedro. All these major events highlight the rich
and unique culture, traditions, the roots and rhythms
and of way of life of Belize and I invite your readers to
experience these exceptional events held throughout
the year in our beautiful country.
