them?
A: Belize is an enchanted destination. Its activities,
attractions and culture are so diverse. There are
numerous ethnic groups living in peace and
harmony and it is therefore not an exaggeration
to say we are a melting pot of cultures. Each
ethnic group has its own distinctiveness, history,
traditions and folklore. Whether you visit the
Mestizo in the north and west, the creole in Belize
City, the Mennonite in the west, the Garifuna,
East Indian in the south you will be amazed at
their warm hospitality. We certainly invite those
planning a vacation to Belize to learn the history,
the way of life of our people, but most importantly
feel free to interact with them, and enjoy their
respective and delicious cuisine, which varies from
region to region in Belize.
Q: How has your country’s tourism focus
evolved over the years? To what extent
have those changes been influenced by
the sustainable tourism model, if at all?
A: Belize is a country where nature’s bounty
flourishes unabated. Our vast natural attractions
form the pillar of our dynamic tourism industry and
for this reason Belize has embraced the ideals of
sustainable and responsible development of her
