Places of Interest in Barbados

Barbados Wildlife Reserve
Barbados may not have a zoo but it does
have something better. The Barbados
Wildlife Reserve is much like a zoo in so far
as it is the home to a wide variety of animals
such as deer, tortoises, iguanas, monkeys
and numerous tropical birds, but at the
reserve they are not in cages and visitors
are free to walk among them. The reserve
also has an impressive show of orchids for
visitors to enjoy.

Sunbury Plantation
Sunbury Plantation is one of the island’s
popular museums. Lavishly furnished
with Victorian antiques, the plantation sits
among teak and mahogany trees planted
as early as 1799, and pleasant gardens.
Guided tours of the plantation displaying
aspects of plantation life, also includes a
tour of a unique collection of horse drawn
carriages.
