Aruba Places on Interest

Donkey Sanctuary Aruba
For a “cute” experience, visit the island’s
Donkey Sanctuary. At one time, donkeys
were the island’s main form of transport
but now that they are unemployed, the
donkeys often get sick or injured so the
sanctuary helps as many as it can to get
well. Here you can make a friend for life
with a donkey by buying a ‘feed cup’ of
cut apples and carrots and while feeding
them, getting a photo at the same time.

Bon Bini Festival
Bon Bini means “welcome” in Papiamento
and it is also the name of a festival now
held weekly in the courtyard of Fort
Zoutman. Fort Zoutman is the island’s
oldest building and the festival takes
place there every Tuesday evening from
6:30 till 8:30. The festival consists of
displays of folkloric dance and music
and serves as a good introduction to the
friendly hospitality and warmth always
offered by Aruba’s people.
