Markita loves all her pieces, not
because of how they look after
she’s finished but because of the
work and effort put into each of
her designs. Being a self-taught
fashion designer means that tireless
hours of extensive research and
practice goes into the execution
of each piece. A piece of herself
is embedded in every design and
being able to share it with someone
and the world on a whole is
incredibly satisfying.
One of the most rewarding
experience so far in her career was
being able to display her unique
pieces at the annual BVI Summer
Sizzle 2014 held in Tortola. This
event featured international
designers, models, publicists
and notable personalities in the
fashion industry. The opportunity
to showcase her work to world
renowned fashion industry
professionals made her feel
proud and accomplished. Seeing
her pieces on this international
platform coupled with the feedback
she received makes Summer Sizzle
one of the most rewarding and
unforgettable experiences in her
career.
