Statia Landscapes
For such a small island of 20 square kilometers, Statia has an amazing amount of
diverse beauty, not only in its landscape above the water but also in its features
below the water. The dormant volcano known as The Quill dominates the
landscape on the southeast whilst the north is home to five extinct volcanoes.
The middle of the island however is flat and is perhaps one of the few places in
the world where tropical forests are within walking distance from a coral reef,
offering visitors the opportunity to experience both in the same day.
