Guadeloupe National Park Guadeloupe National Park (Parc National de la Guadeloupe) on Basse-Terre Island receives more than one million visitors a year and has been designated a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. The park contains 300 kms of hiking trails where hikers can see over 100 species of orchid. Although there is a diverse range of birds to be spotted, there are also 11 different species of bats known to live in the park. The Guadeloupe National Park includes 5 territories: the Soufriere Volcano, the Carbet Waterfalls, the Grand Cul de Sac, the Traversée Road and the Forest House which includes 300 km of trails.
