Belmont Estate places of interest La Sagesse Although there is a hotel and restaurant here, that was converted from the former estate of Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, Lord Brownlow, its beach side location also offers visitors several nature trails which lead over the windswept hillsides and provide excellent views of the ocean. La Sagesse’s location is also popular with many birders. Just an hour’s drive from St. George’s is the 17th-century plantation known as the Belmont Estate where visitors can taste some of the delicious, centuries-old spices of the island. The estate offers a variety of options apart from the spice tasting which include a tour of an organic farm that produces both fruit and spice. Chocolate lovers are also catered for with an option to enjoy a three course meal, with each of the courses featuring locally made chocolate. Photo Credit: KTRWAnderson Photo Credit: CptJackDewey
