Playa Girón, Matanzas (Bay of Pigs) PlaceS of Interest Although known to Cubans as Playa Girón, most Americans will recognize it as the Bay of Pigs. Visitors are interested in diving and snorkeling although some do come to visit the small museum which exhibits the 1961 Americans failed military invasion attempt of Cuba. Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts) Art lovers and others who are not remotely interested in art are all impressed with this gallery that is housed in two buildings. The first building which was built in 1920, displays collections of ancient art including Greek, Roman and Egyptian as well as Asia and the Americas. The second building which was added in 1959 houses art from Cuba, both old and new. Image Source: Tripadvisor.ca Photo Credit: Alan Kotok
