The Bluffs and Caves of Cayman Brac

Cayman Brac is the second largest of the three Cayman Islands and is named after its 45 meter
limestone brac (or bluff ) on its eastern tip, the highest point in the islands. Although the bluff top
hikes are popular with visitors as they provide some excellent views over the sea, the island is also
well-known for its dramatic network of caves which include some with interesting names such as Bat
Cave (a large, well-lit, multi-chambered cave where small bats “hang out” in plain view) or Skull Cave.
National Gallery of the Cayman Islands
The Gallery is located amid beautiful sculptured gardens and houses a collection of sculptures and
paintings by local artists. The second floor of the gallery displays a permanent collection with some
items rotating regularly while the other gallery displays temporary collections. The establishment
also houses a library with over 2,000 books and the Art Café which is an excellent place for quiet
relaxation.
