Bimini
The closest of the Bahamas Islands to the US mainland, Bimini
is just 88 kilometers east of Miami. It is known for being the
“Big Game Fishing Capital of The Bahamas”. The novels “The
Old Man and the Sea” and “Islands in the Stream” by Ernest
Hemingway were inspired by his time on the island. Today it
is perhaps best known for its deep sea fishing tournaments
which take place from March to September each year.
