PORT OF SPAIN
Trinidad’s capital, Port of Spain has several
things to interest tourists and among
those things are what have become
known as the “Magnificent Seven.” These
are a group of elegant mansions that are
sprawled across Queen’s Park Savanna
a green space within the town. Also the
Renaissance-style Parliament is impressive,
plus of course there are the Royal Botanic
Gardens and the National Museum.

ASA WRIGHT NATURE
CENTRE & LODGE
Covering 1,500 acres of dense forest, this
is a paradise for any bird watcher. Once
a plantation for cocoa, citrus and coffee,
the center now makes it possible for
visitors to see woodcreepers, pygmy owls,
Hummingbirds and trogans or perhaps
even the rare nocturnal bird, the oilbird.
Funds made from tours and from guests
at the lodge help pay for the center’s
environmental education programs.
