Since performing at the
Philipsburg Cultural
Center he has been
doing theatre and acting
incessantly and starred in
plays such as “(TOS) The
Other Side”; and “Virtuous”
both Jamaican plays
written and produced by
Oniel Dippozit Richards.
He also acted in the
American drama play
“The River Niger” written
by Joseph A. Walker and
directed by Felix Fleming
from Anguilla. This play
was a full-length drama
set in Harlem New York,
1972.
Akeem graduated from
St. Maarten Academy in
2009 and attended the
University of St. Martin
where he attained his
Associates in General
Liberal Arts and graduated
in 2012.
Growing up and facing
adolescence was one of
the most difficult times
for Akeem as he never
felt a sense of acceptance
or belonging among his
peers or anyone for that
matter. Growing up he
always heard that he was
“different” and “weird”
and just never fit in.
