Discovered by the illustrious voyager, Christopher Columbus, St. Barthelemy
was named after his beloved brother - Bartolomeo. The island is a paradise
within the waters of the Caribbean and a lovely respite for the traveller wanting
some time away from the hustle and bustle of city life. If they still crave the
posh lifestyle, this island will give them both.
St. Barthelemy may not be a lure to those on a shoe-string budget, as its
exquisiteness does come with a hefty price, but if a dream-like Caribbean
vacation in a location where you may just run into a celebrity or two is your
idea of paradise, then by all means, head on down. After all, a vacation in St.
Barthelemy is one you won’t ever forget.
If you travel there during the months of December and January, you may be
lucky to share the beauty of the island with some internationals stars and
business tycoons. If your budget is a bit tight, but you still want to experience
the splendor of St. Barthelemy, think about heading there between April and
August. There are usually bargains around that time of year.
This lush tropical island with its European feel, beautiful beaches, mountains
and all round charm, is an impressive vacation, nicely packaged. Play under the
sun and try sailing, surfing, snorkeling or diving. Shop, have a meal and take a
