La Fortaleza
This is the current residence of the Governor of Puerto Rico.
It was a fortress built between 1533 and 1540 to protect the city and the Bay of San Juan.
In the past, La Fortaleza has served as an arsenal and a prison.
In 1983, it was listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site - “La Fortaleza and San Juan
National Historic Site”
