Melinda Chervon Ulysses
(Mel)
She’s been referred to as the Rihanna of the
French world, the Little Dominican Pearl and
The Nature Isle’s Flower. Beautiful, young and
talented, with a smooth, soothing voice, Mel
is quickly becoming a household name, and
face. Even more extraordinary is her mixture
of English, French, Creole and even Spanish in
her original compositions.
Born on the island of Dominica, singer,
songwriter, model, musician, lead singer
for two-time Cadence-Lypso Champions
Ti-Orkest, and now validated international
performing artist, with over sixteen million
combined YouTube views, Mel, the little island
gem is quickly rising to stardom.
Mel can be described as beautifully multi-
talented. She was a teacher for eight years.
For four years she worked on a cruise ship
as a singer - she plays the piano and guitar.
Mel also models - she has done professional
shoots in Saint Lucia, Jamaica, Saint Martin,
Martinique, Antigua, Belize, Mexico and
Germany.
Singing, however, is her ultimate passion.
Since she started publicly in 2009, Mel has
shared the stage with the likes of Queen
Ifrica, Tony Rebel, and Christopher Martin
to name a few. She has performed on many
local stages both as a solo artist and with
her band Ti-Orkest. Regionally, Mel has
performed in Suriname, Saint Lucia, Grenada,
Martinique, Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, Marie
Galante, Reunion Island, French Guiana, and
internationally, in France.
Mel became signed to her now, French
music label, Dreamtracks, in 2017. She was
introduced to the group by friend and fellow
artist, Wallas, with whom she released “Come
to Me”, the single that won her ninety-nine
thousand YouTube views (July 2015).
