Voluntourism
The Department of Tourism is offering
opportunities for travelers to help with the
Territory’s recovery efforts as part of their U.S.
Virgin Islands experience. In conjunction with local
nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations,
the Department is developing an inventory of
needs in the Territory that will benefit most from
volunteer assistance and resources. Examples
include helping to clean up the beaches and
National Parks, as well as engaging in hands-on
experiences at a farm with a focus on agricultural
sustainability. The Department is encouraging
visitors to select projects that match their skills or
interests, such as education, medical/healthcare,
marine/environmental science and human
services.
