the many caves along
the beach, Las Cuevas is
Spanish for “the caves.”
Las Cuevas is a 2.2km stretch of scenic,
off-white sand beach, ideal for lounging,
sunbathing and picnics. Located in the
Caribbean Sea on Trinidad’s north coast,
its clear water and gentle waves are
perfect for swimming, and manageable
for children. Lifeguards are on duty daily
from 10am – 6pm and facilities include
a car park, cafe, restrooms and changing
rooms.
Las Cuevas Beach is also the first beach
in Trinidad and Tobago and in the
Southern- English Speaking Caribbean
to be Blue Flag certified, an indication
that the beach has achieved high
international standards in water quality,
environmental management, safety and
services.
