MACQUERIPE BAY
At the northern end of Tucker Valley that bisects Trinidad ’ s Chaguaramas peninsula , sits Macqueripe Bay . The bay faces the Caribbean Sea but is sheltered by the Northern Range which rises steeply from the water . The beach here is smaller and less popular than Maracas Beach , but as it is just a quick drive from Port of Spain , it usually gets crowded on weekends . The eastern side of the bay sports a half ruined jetty that has now become a popular diving platform , and at the mouth of the bay , dolphins can sometimes be seen among the waves .
