Hope Estate Archaeological Site Overlooking the Grand Case plain 80 metres above sea level, is a one-hectare plateau where the ruins of an Arawak village were found. The Arawak Indians occupied the island from about 450 B.C until 550 A.D, building a large circular- shaped village at this site. Today, their presence lingers in the pottery items and petroglyphs recently discovered by archaeologists. www.stmartinisland.org
