Maho Beach
Maho Beach is quite popular but it is certainly not the place to be if you are looking for rest and tranquility . It is popular for an entirely different reason . The bay is situated extraordinarily close to the Princess Juliana International Airport and affords an excellent vantage point for people who want to take pictures of incoming jets and feel the blast from their engines as they pass close overhead . It is notwithstanding , a beautiful beach , and brave souls do attempt windsurfing in the bay , however one of its main attractions is undoubtedly the close proximity of the planes and airport nearby , which provides excellent opportunities to capture memorable vacation photos .
Many of the island ’ s beaches were damaged during Hurricane Irma and Maria . Clean-up campaigns have been underway to clear them of hurricane debris , making it safe for swimmers .
Maho Beach is now open and swimmers can again enjoy what is considered to be one of the Caribbean ’ s most fascinating beaches .
