T
h e o wners of The Hideaway
are newlyweds Courtney and
Camilo Usuga. Camilo worked in
the restaurant industry for a few
years before he decided he would like to
open a restaurant of his own. Together with
his then girlfriend Courtney, who was doing
her internship at the Saba Tourist office, they
made the decision to open a restaurant once
she graduated. They envisioned opening a
fun, vibrant and inviting restaurant with good
food and drinks. Their vision soon became a
reality and The Hideaway Bar and Restaurant
opened its doors on December 31st, 2015.
Both Courtney and Camilo work in the
restaurant to ensure that everything goes
smoothly and that their customers are happy.
Along with their staff (who are awesome by
the way), they have worked hard to make sure
The Hideaway is a success.
Jack Fire Glow Festival
Parties
The Hideaway has been known for throwing some of the best
parties! During the Summer time, two main parties are held:
The Jack Fire Glow Festival and Summer Splash. Both are
themed parties. The Jack Fire Glow Festival has been thrown
every summer since opening. This party includes lots of glow
accessories, glow paint, glow jello shots and special deals on
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire.
This year was the first time doing the Summer Splash party
and it was a huge success. Party goers dressed in their best
beach and summer wear and accessories like sunglasses and
Hawaiian leis, were given out free of charge.
Another party to note, is Halloween at The Hideaway.
This party is usually thrown together with students of the
Saba University School of medicine and is a fun night for
all. The plaza is transformed into a haunted party zone with
decorations, drink specials such as zombie juice and syringe
jello shots. Costume prizes are also given.
Taco Tuesday
Every last Tuesday of the month The Hideaway has Taco Tuesday.
Each Taco Tuesday the menu is different, offering about six types
of tacos. However, a staple on the menu is the classic taco which is
seasoned ground beef, cheese and lettuce. Other tacos are made
up of shrimp, steak, chicken, etc. Once in a while they go a little
crazy with their taco ideas and make something like the sushi taco!
