JANUARY 6
Accompong Maroon Festival
This is an annual festival held to celebrate the
signing of the peace treaty between Jamaica’s
maroon slaves and the British. It is an authentic
Jamaican experience visitors and locals enjoy,
filled with music, food, dancing and story-telling.
JANUARY 16
Kick-off to Carnival
Jamaica’s unique carnival celebrations, including
a Beach Jouvert, starts in January and ends in
April. During those months, various activities
will be held leading up to its culmination where
you’ll be treated to masquerading bands -
local and regional, parties, parades, the music
competitions synonymous with Caribbean
carnivals and food.
FEBRUARY
Reggae Month
February is dedicated to the celebration of
reggae music on the island. During the month,
there will be concerts, lectures, an awards
ceremony and more. A reggae village will be set
up at Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, so
for the lovers of reggae music, February should
be the month you visit Jamaica.

Bob Marley Birthday Bash
The Reggae legend’s birthday is celebrated
throughout the island with live music, art
exhibitions, concerts and local food.
