Gino Artist, Tintin
Haiti
ino Tintin was born in Port au Prince,
the youngest of seven children. Both
parents died when Gino was still a
child and he was raised by his older
siblings with his brother, Jean Patrick being thrust into
the role of father figure. As an orphan, his childhood
memories are not all pleasant. He remembers his older
sister working in the factories to put food on the table
and to ensure her siblings lived to see another day.
Alas, his older sister also died and Gino and his
brothers were left to fend for themselves. Through it
all, they embraced their love for painting and with Jean
Patrick as the mentor, Gino embarked on his painting
journey in 1990.
Painting allows him to express his emotions and his
soul. For him, painting is his life and the air that he
breathes. He is convinced he was born to be an artist.
