About the one book she will choose
from a selection
I love reading, especially books by urban authors. My
favorite book is “The Book of Negroes” by Lawrence
Hill. I love it because it is a moving story about a
woman who fights to overcome every obstacle sent
her way.
About her fond memories of growing
up in Dominica
Growing up in Dominica is a very unique experience.
My fondest memories were spending time with my
Grandmother, Veronica Emmanuel. When I spent
time with her, there was no television to watch, nor
internet. Those times fostered my love for reading
and love of the outdoors.
There is so much to love about growing up in
Dominica, going to the beach or river any time
you want to. Breathing in the clean, fresh air. Being
surrounded by warm and friendly people.
Being a Dominican is a wonderful thing!
