Booby Pond Nature Reserve This is a great place for bird watchers and nature lovers. A wide variety of birds live in the mangrove and dry forest of the Reserve. Of special significance is its resident colony of Red-footed Boobies with over 2,500 nests, making it one of the largest colonies in the Wetern Hemisphere. A colony of Frigate birds also nests in the Reserve. With binoculars in hand, and lots of patience, you can observe many of the resident birds, including Egrets, Herons, West Indian Whistling Ducks, King Fishers and more. The Visitor Centre is equipped with telescopes and an observation deck. In addition to the educational resources at the Centre, knowledgeable volunteers are on site to provide additional information. A momento can be purchased from the small shop at the Centre at the end of your visit. Photo Credit: Cayman Islands Department of Tourism
