JANUARY
Maskarada
The Lt. Governor’s house is the venue for
the beginning of the Maskarada which is a
traditional event. Local villagers, with faces
disguised, entertain with mimes and dances.
They then move on to entertain in other
venues. The performers remain masked until
the end of the day’s performances. This event
is usually held on the Sunday following New
Years’ Day. Be on the lookout for them if you
are on Bonaire at that time.
FEBRUARY
Carnival
February 3 & 4- Children’s Carnival
February 10 - Grand Carnival Parade, Rincon
February 11 - Grand Parade Kralendijk. The
Grand Parade is the biggest of the island’s carnival
season, held on the Sunday before the Catholic’s
Ash Wednesday. Experience the beauty of elborate
floats, masqueraders glittering costumes and lots
of music.
February 12 - Carnival Monday
