Jaguar Preserve

Wildlife Sanctuary)
In the Preserve, extensive
jungle trails have markers
identifying the different
plants. As well as being the
home of and a sanctuary
for Belize’s largest cats, the
Cockscomb Basin Wildlife
Sanctuary also protects
the headwaters of two
of the country’s major
rivers. Surrounded by the
Cockscomb Mountains, the
preserve covers 128,000
acres of lush jungle.
