The Food
With so many different cultures living in Belize , it is a gourmet ’ s delight , with foods from a variety of different Central American countries , East India , Maya and Africa as well as the Caribbean . Although the most abundant dish is the creole rice and beans or stewed recado chicken , it is always possible to get the Central American garnaches , panades , tamales , escabeche or chimole or a Garifuna dish comprising a mix of sea food , cassava and vegetables .
