Trinidad Carnival is often said to be the best in the Caribbean . Why is this so ? We take pride in our Trinidad and Tobago Carnival as it is not only viewed as one of the biggest Carnivals in the Caribbean but in the world . Unlike the Brazilian Carnival festival where one must be a part of a dancing school or a performer , at our festival the public are the masqueraders . Therefore WE are the show !
Many other factors have contributed to Trinidad Carnival being viewed as the biggest and the best . The Carnival parade is the biggest parade in the Caribbean with bigger bands and more masqueraders than other islands . Trinidad is also the birthplace of Soca , Calypso and Steelpan Music which results in our Trinbagonians feeling a special sense of pride and connection to our music . Our shores have also been blessed with some great Soca Artist such as Machel Montano , Kees Dieffenthaller , and Bunji Garlin . The music that comes out of Trinidad often sets the trends and tones for Carnival Seasons across the world .
